    Eben, this is an interesting article titled “Why the future doesn’t need us.” It was written by Bill Joy and published on Wired in April 2000.

    How long down the track before Markram gets the same notoriety as Milgram, having been the first to be ‘cruel’ to a known form of consciousness by creating the computer equivalent of Helen Keller?
    …and when Blue Brain takes the stand, how will they make sure it’s not lying…

    Everybody talks about the lying robot, butwhat about the hero robot in that same article? I am more interested in why a robot would be so selfless as to actually put himself in harm’s way.
